Florent Duplouy, born 1972, is legal counsel to the
Safety of Journalists Platform. He advises on compliance with institutional instruments, alerts publishing, researching systemic alerts and drafting annual reports. He has held positions at the Council of Europe in monitoring social human rights and staff regulations. Before joining the
Council of Europe, he practised at the Strasbourg bar, representing before the French courts, advising on international aspects of competition, corporations, wealth, employment, and drafting contracts on industrial cooperation, transport and services. He has lectured and researched on international contracts, international trade, dispute settlement and human rights at the Universities of Strasbourg, Mannheim, and at the Estonian School of Diplomacy.
Florent holds a
PhD in law from the University of Mannheim, a Masters of business law from the University of Strasbourg, and a Diploma in international relations from the Johns Hopkins University.
